Principal's Welcome
Dear Rattlers,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new assistant principal of Valley View Charter Montessori. It is truly an honor to serve a school community with wonderful students, parents, and educators. Prior to being appointed the assistant principal of Valley View, I served students as a middle school teacher, math department chair, and assistant principal. For the past three years, I have proudly served as the assistant principal of Edwin Markham Middle School in Placerville, CA. In addition to my professional experience, I bring to Valley View a commitment to staff and student success, a passion for inspiring excellence in all, and a promise to give my very best every day.
I am looking forward to sharing my passion for Montessori and IB philosophies of learning. My career in education started in a Montessori classroom, which gave me the foundation for how I wanted to raise and teach my own children. My five children have only ever known Montessori education, and I am so grateful for the kindness, perseverance, and curiosity their schooling has brought out in them. I hope to work alongside staff to ensure that Valley View students see the same success that my own children have with their Montessori guidance. I also spent some time teaching within an IB school, in which I helped support students with their schoolwork and community service. IB is the perfect complement to Montessori education’s focus on developing the whole child. I am excited to help students foster their own growth as these philosophies help them to expand their knowledge and worldview.
As the new assistant principal, I hope to support the amazing work that has been happening here for many years. My plan is to be a leader alongside Mr. Stewart, while also serving as a supportive figure for him and the vision that he has for the school’s continued success. I also plan to be an active and collaborative member of the school’s leadership team so that I can work closely with teachers and support their best efforts each day. Along with teachers and staff, I will continue to strive for a successful partnership with the community and will work to ensure that students feel safe and happy on campus so that they can focus on their desire to learn.
In my new role, I will work to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. True to the school’s vision statement, I believe in every student’s potential and know that with support, all can be successful. We must work together to provide students with relevant, meaningful, and challenging work that meets their individual needs in order to prepare them to be world-class citizens and give them the tools they need in order to contribute positively to society.
Please always feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I firmly believe in open communication and a strong home and school connection. I look forward to working with all students, staff, family, and community members in the future, as we take on the very important goal of educating our youth to be the very best that they can be.
Sincerely,
Amanda Alessandro
Assistant Principal
