Welcome to Valley View Charter Montessori Middle School International Baccalaureate "IB" World School!
Valley View Charter Montessori and the Buckeye Union School District are dedicated to providing a high-quality Montessori program in a public school setting. The Montessori program employs a whole-child approach, focusing on each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs. The Montessori classroom is at the same time structured and supportive of self-direction. Children are provided with hands-on materials that enable them to experience their learning kinesthetically. The Montessori approach is methodical and each step in the learning process leads to the next level of learning. We are a standards-based program and use district assessments, evaluations, and reporting forms (i.e. progress reports and report cards).

What does Montessori look like at Valley View?
Buckeye Union School District is proud to be the only district in El Dorado County with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme. Valley View Charter Montessori is fortunate to be an IB-Candidate School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students in grades 6-8.
We have a strong commitment to making sure our students understand the value of their academics, what it takes to be a responsible and respected member of a global community, and to respect and celebrate the diversity that each one of them bring to school each day. Our middle school teachers and staff recognize the challenges that face young teens as they transition out of the elementary years, and strive to work with the students and their families in developing the skills that will help students make positive choices throughout their lifetime.
Valley View Middle School provides students with a rigorous curriculum based on the California Content Standards, and we offer multiple opportunities for students to show their understanding. Classroom time is devoted to learning and instructional minutes are sacred. Teachers use a variety of strategies to engage students and address the unique learning style of each student, promoting a deeper understanding of the curriculum. It’s about student learning.
